Big Top Chautauqua: Best of the Big Top

On Sunday, September 27, 2009 Big Top Chautauqua’s Blue Canvas Orchestra will light up the Middleton PAC stage. This show features original songs and big-screen images of the Great Lakes, the Native peoples, the pioneers, the lighthouses and their keepers, shipping and shipwrecks, logging and farming, and the natural beauty of the land and will also feature favorites from Big Top’s fishing spoof Riverpants. These musicals keep the stories alive; remind us of who we are, how far we’ve come, and what we’ve left behind. The second half of the show features individual members of the Blue Canvas Orchestra performing original favorites.

The Cat's Pajamas

Back by popular demand, the Friends of the Middleton Performing Arts Center proudly present The Cat’s Pajamas Vocal Band. The fastest rising vocal band on the planet has been touring internationally for the last 3 years and will return to Middleton with an exciting new show including some of their classic favorites as well as a new set of holiday music sure to get you in the spirit of the season.
The Cat’s Pajamas have revolutionized a cappella creating a show uniquely their own, incorporating outstanding vocals and witty humor. By producing 1000’s of sounds with their voices, these four guys will leave your entire family mesmerized.
Since their DVD release concert here at the Middleton PAC last year, they performed at the Kohl Center for the UW Marching Band Spring Concert and just made their headline debut in Branson, Missouri where they took the town by storm. Larry Busch Orchestra
Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, 7:30 p.m.
The Larry Busch Orchestra winds its way to the Performing Arts Center from southwestern Wisconsin. There has been a Busch Band as long as the Busch family has been able to track their history. Trumpeter Larry Busch directs the current band, Marty Busch plays trombone and Luke Busch is on alto sax. The band, which plays in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois, is known for their big band, ballroom dance and Broadway repertoire.
Many of you will remember a stunning performance by area vocalist Gregory Brumfield several years ago as part of our “Community of Stars.” Mr. Brumfield currently performs with opera companies nationally, and has been seen (and heard) in many local musical theater productions.
Thomas Kasdorf, from Middleton, is currently studying piano with Professor Christopher Taylor at the University of Wisconsin. He has won many awards, including the Bolz Prize of the Madison Symphony Concerto competition, and performed Grieg’s Piano Concerto at the Madison Symphony Spring Youth Concerts.
